Did you know that you can find jute rugs as inexpensively as $1? Me neither, not even at the land of IKEA, where I thought all happy and inexpensive furnishings were birthed. This new striped jute rug is just what our kitchen feet called for.
It may have been sale-priced to move at our local Lowe’s, but I’m even more surprised that it retailed for only $3.74. I’m not even convinced that it could be true. In one of those walk-by-do-a-double-take moments, I was suddenly cradling it in my arms and snapping this picture. What gives? I should have bought four and wove them together to create a new 48″x80″ rug.
I considered it as maybe a replacement for the rugs that sit by our sliding glass door to the deck, maybe in the sunroom, maybe in the bathroom. I even thought briefly about whipping up some future holiday project, painting some pumpkins or reindeer antlers on it, tossing it on the front stoop and calling it a day, but instead, it’s size and coloring won us over in its au naturale state in front of the sink.
I know it’s not much bigger than a more common 2’x3′ rug, but there’s something in those extra 4″ of length that make its size perfect for the space. After a few of the manufacturer wrinkles flattened out, it started to fit right in.
Anyone else scoop up a bunch of dolla jute rugs?

Did you get these at Lowe’s recently? As in, if I ran over to my local one, could I possibly have the same luck? I’m about to get my running shoes on.
At Lowe’s, yes! Worth checking, I bought it at the end of January!
$3.74 now seems so expensive! lol
Tell me about it! Lowe’s needs to institute some coupon dealios.
